in a moon of seas

and in this faint and slanted light
that falls upon each wasted leaf
the certainty of you

cliff and coast and ceding tides
torn by a constant crawl of waves
come back to me

light in the wash of keels
a sail in the distant swell
a moon of seas.

Anne Marie Butler (Annie) a new writer invited by Brenda Squires to join the PENfro Poets in 2013. She soon became an enthusiast and attended regular workshops until 2016. After a spell of absence to study she is now hoping to return. Annie says that it is through the support of Brenda and the PENfro Poets that she has become a dedicated writer.
